
OADL 2025 Legislative Efforts
House Bill 2594
House Bill 2594 was signed into law on May 28, 2025 by Governor Kotek. This law establishes new standards for dental labs operating in, or doing business in the State of Oregon. A three year effort by the Oregon Association of Dental Laboratories with provided supporting information from the Washington State Dental Lab Association and ongoing support from the National Association of Dental Laboratories of this initiative has resulted in the passage of this bill.
Requirements will take effect on July 1, 2026. The registered dental laboratory must employ either a dentist, a certified dental technician or a dental technician that has achieved 12 continuing education credits per year. There is a 5 year grace period to meet the CDT requirement. Additionally the laboratory must provide material content and point of origin disclosures.
